I know I’m not nearby, but please consider me with my arms extended and virtually offering a hug! Wow, the way you closed this piece brought me from teary-eyed to a big smile. Beautiful writing, as always, Christiana. I’m going to take a short break, a deep breath and start your next piece. Fighting the good fight is hardly ever easy, I know from experience. Wishing you peace and positivity ✌️

Hug received! Thanks, Rob! Received and appreciated. Yes, the human experience. Not always easy at all. And yet. Finding the beauty… I’m determined to.

I relate to this so much - being distracted by technology and so much information! Sending you a big hug.

Admiring your process and your writing. Brilliant exegesis of the word consumption.

Consumption. The wasting away. It is a parasite, a leach, a worm. A rot. To consume is to be, subsequently, consumed.

I wonder if the antithesis is not "absorption." To take in, soak up, accumulate. A sponge. It sounds like the angle to the demon that is the other - similar in guise, in voice, in posture. But one seems to fulfill and associates with purpose, the other drains and seems to rob us of the agency we want to retain.

How complicated that it is so wrapped up in the same places, in the same facades. Our devices. Our habits. Our desires.

Thanks for your willingness to open and spill some of that for us here. I think there is both meaning in the work, and in the effort itself. It, at least, has given me something to absorb (not consume) this morning. Thank you.
